How to make a bonsai without any equipment

How to make a bonsai without any equipment

Bonsai is a living art that is liked by all green lovers. Most of the time know about bonsai from pictures or from the videos of Japanese and Chinese Bonsai exhibitions.

After watching those exhibitions everyone wants to have a bonsai in their home. The people who are rich the most often buy bonsai from shops but they are very expensive.

But believe me, it is more pleasant to make a bonsai on own rather buying a bonsai from a shop.

As a beginner, we will not be able to make bonsai like exhibitions because those are quite hard to make so we will start from an easy one.

Step 1 :

#First we need a rooted cutting or a seedling of a Ficus tree. The ficus trees are very hard and they can survive in tough conditions.

#Prepare soil that contains 50% garden soil, 25% sand and 25% cocopeat.

#Manage a big container with some drainage holes at the bottom.

#Cover the bottom with small stones and put the soil in.

#Plant the rooted cutting or the seedling in the center of the container.

#Give plenty of water until the water drains from the drainage holes.

#Keep the plant in full sunlight for the best growth.

#You have to leave the plant for 1 year so that the tree grows taller and the trunk becomes thicker.

#Just give water to the plant regularly and let it grow.

#You can give little organic compost in every 1.5 months (Optional).

Step 2 :

After a year you got the required thickness of your bonsai tree now you have to develop the branches.

#Cut or chop the trunk of your bonsai tree. You have to choose the height of the bonsai and then chop if you want a big size bonsai you have to keep 10-12inch trunk height and then cut the trunk or if you want a small bonsai you can to keep the trunk height less than 10 inches as your wish.

#It’s a very hard pruning so you need a ‘Pruner’ if  You don’t have one you can use a ‘Hacksaw Blade’ to cut the trunk.

#After cutting the trunk fill the cutting part with PVA Glue or Vaseline.

Leave the tree for 2 months to sprout its branches. Keep the tree in enough sunlight and water regularly.

Step 3 :

#When you see the tree grow its branches let it grow long so that it would be thick.

#When the branches  become thick pick only two branches left and right one and cut the other ones.

#Cut the two branches with a suitable length and apply the glue-like before.

#Leave the plant to sprout its new branches.

#You have to do this process until you get a very great dense amount of branches.

Step 4 :

When you got your desired shape for your bonsai it’s time to work on the roots.

#Take the plant off from the pot with the entire soil. You have to do this so carefully. Make sure that no roots are damaged.

#Take a half bucket of water and soak the roots until the soil gets out from the roots.

#Clean the soil with water.

#Look carefully at the roots.

#Bring a sharp scissor and cut the thicker roots and keep the thin and dense roots and also cut the roots which are going downwards.

Step 5 :

#Now we are on the final step.

#You have to buy a bonsai pot or a beautiful pot or you can make a bonsai pot by yourself by watching youtube tutorials.

#Prepare the same potting mix to plant the bonsai into the pot.

#Gently and very carefully place the bonsai into the center of the pot and put the soil in.

# Give water to the plant.

And you got your very first bonsai ready.
